Peer Review Process

International Journal of Multidisciplinary Research and Studies (IJMRS)
ISSN: 2640-7272 | USA Based | Open Access | Peer Reviewed

The International Journal of Multidisciplinary Research and Studies (IJMRS) follows a rigorous double-blind peer review process, ensuring the publication of high-quality, original, and ethically sound scholarly work. All manuscripts undergo systematic evaluation to maintain the journal’s international standards and multidisciplinary scope.

1. Initial Editorial Screening

After submission, each manuscript is reviewed by the Editorial Office to check:

  • Scope relevance

  • Compliance with journal formatting

  • Originality and quality

  • Ethical considerations

  • Plagiarism screening

Manuscripts that do not meet these basic criteria may be returned to authors for revision or rejected before peer review.

2. Double-Blind Peer Review Assignment

Manuscripts that pass initial screening are assigned to two independent expert reviewers.
To ensure fairness and eliminate bias:

  • Authors do not know the identity of reviewers

  • Reviewers do not know the identity of authors

This double-blind structure maintains neutrality and academic integrity.

3. Reviewer Evaluation Criteria

Reviewers evaluate the manuscript based on:

  • Originality and contribution to knowledge

  • Quality of research design and methodology

  • Relevance, significance, and clarity

  • Accuracy and validity of results

  • Strength of discussion and conclusion

  • Ethical compliance

  • Quality of figures, tables, and references

  • Language clarity and presentation

Reviewers provide detailed comments and recommendations.

4. Reviewer Recommendations

Reviewers may give one of the following decisions:

  1. Accept – The manuscript meets all publishing standards.

  2. Minor Revision – Minor improvements needed before acceptance.

  3. Major Revision – Substantial changes required; reconsideration after revision.

  4. Reject – Manuscript does not meet the journal’s standards or has technical/ethical issues.

5. Author Revision Stage

If revisions are required, authors must:

  • Address each reviewer comment clearly

  • Highlight changes made in the manuscript

  • Provide a revision response letter

Revised manuscripts may be sent back to the same reviewers for reevaluation.

6. Final Editorial Decision

After peer review and revision stages, the Editor-in-Chief makes the final decision based on:

  • Reviewer recommendations

  • Quality of revisions

  • Compliance with publication ethics

  • Overall contribution to the field

The Editorial Board reserves the right to accept or reject the manuscript.

7. Proofreading & Pre-Publication

Accepted manuscripts undergo:

  • Final proofreading

  • Layout formatting

  • DOI assignment

  • Online publication scheduling

Authors receive a final proof for confirmation before publication.

8. Publication Timeline

IJMRS strives for a timely and efficient peer review process while ensuring high academic quality. Exact timelines may vary depending on reviewer availability, revision time, and manuscript complexity.

9. Confidentiality & Ethics

  • All submitted manuscripts are treated as confidential documents.

  • Reviewers and editors must not use or share manuscript content.

  • Any ethical issues detected during review are handled according to COPE guidelines.
